Having been to several chiropractors in the past for my lower back problems, I was not expecting any immediate and or long term relief from my treatments with Dr. Trester.  However, after the initial consultation with him, I knew he was different from the rest because he actually took the time to describe and educate me on how my spine was affecting other areas of my health.  At that time, I was having trouble breathing at night which I was made aware was the direct result of the subluxations in my spine.  To my surprise and delight, only about a week of two into my treatment and program, the pain in my lower back was subsiding and I was actually able to breathe properly during my sleep.

I cannot begin to describe how great I feel to be pain-free in my lower back and be able to breathe properly when I sleep.  I would without hesitation, refer my family and friends to Dr. Trester because I know first hand the positive and immediate results from seeing Dr. Trester.

On a rainy evening, in the spring of 2005, I walked in the office of Dr. Randall Trester.  A colleague had seen me wince too many times due to a very painful condition in my shoulder and told me about this doctor of chiropractic who was treating her.  On that particular day, I decide to investigate who is this chiropractor my colleague is confident will be able to help me.

At that point, I had visited a different chiropractor a few times, a physiotherapist for over six months and an acupuncturist for more than a couple of dozen times.  My progress after all these visits had ranged from nil to minimal.  I had put up with my painful shoulder for over a year, unable to raise my left arm higher than a few inches from my hip, or put up my hair in ponytail or dress without almost doing acrobatic stunts to close clothing hooks or fasteners.

As I write this, I could hardly believe that was once part of my life!  I thank my lucky stars that I met Dr. Randall Trester who put me into a treatment schedule that started me into a healing path.  I have also learned a lot from his advice, explanation and the tips on his video screen that I watched while at his waiting room.

The first time I shampooed my hair with both arms raised up to my head, I almost cried!  My shoulder pain is gone and my left arm is functional like as if I never had any problem with it.  Furthermore, with regular adjustments, I feel better generally.  I also noticed that I run better.

Likewise, I commend Dr. Randall (this is how I prefer to call him) for having such wonderful people like Bonnie and Aracely at the front desk.  (I, however, miss Shalene tremendously.) I appreciate Dr. Randall’s effort when he took careful steps in looking for someone to take Shalene’s place.  (Hers are big shoes to fill) It shows that his care for his patients starts from the moment the patient steps in the door of his clinic.

Currently, when I hear anyone I know complaining of recurring headaches, neck or shoulder pain, I tell them of my experience and encourage them to go see my chiropractic doctor on West 1st!

Thank you, Dr. Randall – you are the best

Sincerely

Bee

I started seeing Dr. Trester about a year ago having serious migraine, shoulders and tight neck problems.  As a first timer to chiropractic therapy, Dr. Trester has provided me with first hand knowledge on how to understand my problems and how to correct them.

Through my year of treatment, I have started to reconnect with a better way of living and have come to appreciate my chiropractic treatments, even looking forward to them.

Dr. Trester is an excellent chiropractor, I recommend Dr. Trester to anyone in need.  Dr. Trester and his staff are genuinely caring about their patients.

The West 1st Chiropractic Wellness Centre is a lovely friendly and family oriented environment.  I thank Dr. Trester for all his patience, his encouragement but most of all for being my chiropractor.

Sincerely

I began coming to West 1st Chiropractic Wellness Centre in November of 2006.  The purpose of my visits was to correct the alignment of my spine, which was causing me pain, lack of movement, and significant discomfort increasingly year over year.  My treatment plan was developed by Dr. Trester, and after X-rays we began my rehabilitation journey together.

I did experience quite a bit of relief almost immediately, and Dr. Trester was quite good at having me understand what was happening, and why I might relapse into pain, which I did.  After years of having an untreated injury, I could not expect to have my spine permanently realigned with only a few treatments.  I completed the full treatment prescribed, graduated from my treatment plan, and was awarded the coveted West 1st Chiropractic water bottle as my prize.

My progress was impressive, in my mind and I was able to regain range of motion.  I was no longer concerned about relapsing into pain, and able to perform activities without injuring myself.
Although I have used Dr. Trester’s client service model as an example to other business professionals in my industry, and marveled at this clinic, I was most impressed recently by a treatment I had recently during one of my maintenance treatments.

I had been congested, with a runny nose, and although I did not feel sick, the mountain of tissue I would accumulate throughout the day was evidence to the contrary.  I went in to see Dr. Trester and he once again performed his skills.  This time he tweaked my adjustment to focus on the site which was causing my head cold symptoms, and immediately after my adjustment I was no longer congested.  My nose was dry, and I did not have to have a box of tissue available throughout the day.  It was like he had merely flicked a switch and I was “cured”.

I have experienced a great deal of relief from my treatment plan, increased my overall health, and flexibility.  I am grateful for the insight, professionalism, and dedication of Dr. Trester and his staff.  It must be very regarding for him to see such a material change I his patients from start to finish and it is with this sincere appreciation that I write this letter encouraging everyone who may have a lingering injury, or know that everything is not quite right to experience the West 1st Chiropractic experience, truly a wonderful journey from start to finish.

Thanks you, Dr Randall Trester, and your staff.

My story goes back to December 2005.  After a hectic year, I decided to treat myself to a beach vacation---luxury---but just before I left I woke up one morning with a stiff neck.
The same weekend I paid a visit to my massage therapist, but did not help much.  I thought it might go away during my vacation; sun and swimming might help.  On the contrary, it got worse while I was vacationing.  I barely made it back to Canada, and visited a walk-in clinic right away.  I was prescribed two pain killers that took about half the pain away, but my left hand thumb and index finger tips were number about 2 months.

I went VGH to see a specialist in the Neurology department.  After running all the tests, the doctors’ conclusion was that nothing was wrong and not to do anything (i.e. acupuncture or chiropractic treatment).  However, at work, I was not even able to sit straight up in my chair for 10 minutes.  The pain used to start from my left shoulder and would come down to my elbow.  I would get up and stretch or swing my left arm at least every half hour.  As well as being painful, it was interfering with my life.
Three months later, a friend referred me to her acupuncturist and I started visiting him once a week.  It did help me to remove the symptoms for 2-3 days but towards the weekend the pain always came back.  He was helpful for the pain but dod not help the cause.  I was also getting massage therapy prior to the acupuncture treatment and continued all the time.

Finally, one day shopping in a health store I was recommended Dr. Trester’s name.  This was going to be my first experience with a Chiropractor and I was very skeptical how this would help me.  By June 2006, I started coming to his office.  He explained to me what was happening in my neck over my x-ray and what is waiting for me in the future if not taken care of properly.  At the beginning, I was coming 3 times a week, and was still in some pain.  Being patient and following his recommendations on stretching etc., I started seeing the pain slowly moving up from forearm to elbow, from elbow to shoulder and finally at the neck area.  It was not an easy experience to begin with, but I am so glad that I was here.  Basically, he was the last option for my incident. Almost 6 months later, I had no pain at all.  Looking back, I wish that I had been aware of the benefits that Chiropractic attention would have sooner, but better late than never.

Thank you Dr. Trester…for giving my left arm back to me.
Sincerely

Why would anyone trust another person to grab a hold of your head and jerk it to one side?!
This is how I felt about chiropractic care.  There was no way anyone was going to do that to me.  I was this medical professions biggest critic.  It took six months after meeting with Dr. Trester to finally begin treatment.  So what changed my mind?

When I walked into the office the warm, welcoming staff was a pleasant surprise and immediately put me at east.  I was also amazed at the amount of passion Dr. Trester had for his work.  He took the time to explain how chiropractics would work for me and the natural benefits I would see.  Once I understood that, I was able to clear my mind of the negativities I had about chiropractics and trust him.  Dr. Trester truly enjoys providing a service to his clients, to care for their spinal health, help improve quality of life and continue with their overall wellness.

I suffered from a sharp, shooting pain on the left side of my upper back that traveled up my neck, across my head, down to the front of my face and stopped behind my nose and left eye.  This wasn’t all the time, just some mornings when I woke up and turned my head to the side.  I would have to lie there, writing with pain, desperately trying to rub the pain out.  After taking the time to work through the program with Dr. Trester, I wake up in the morning without pain; I have an increase in flexibility and an increase in athletic performance.  Now I wake up in the morning, take a deep breath and get on with my day.

Our family has benefited by having chiropractics become a part of maintaining our healthy lifestyle.  Thanks you Dr. Trester for your patience and the amazing work you do.

My husband and I met Dr. Trester at the Baby & Family Fair in September 2066.  He had a booth set up offering free evaluations.  I was three and half months pregnant at the time and was collecting information for future reference.  I had always been curious about chiropractic and was interested if it could help prevent colic in our baby.  My evaluation showed quite an imbalance so I made an appointment to see him.

Between the time of the fair and my appointment I had developed pelvic pain due to my pregnancy.  I did a bit of research on the internet and discovered that chiropractics could be helpful for the pain.  I mentioned my problem to Dr. Trester at the beginning of my treatment and upon my first adjustment felt immediate relief.  I was pleasantly surprised.  As my pregnancy progressed the pelvic pain became more intense, but I was able to manage the pain with the help of Dr. Trester.  We also discussed the benefits of correct alignment during labour which was foremost in my mind now that my due date was getting closer.

My pregnancy was described as “text book” and I felt this was in large part due to my chiropractic treatment.  Our daughter Kate arrived two weeks early on February 15, 2007.  My recovery from the delivery has been very rapid with little use of pain medication.  I would highly recommend chiropractic care as a safe and effective means of dealing with the discomforts of pregnancy.  Kate is happy and healthy.  She and my husband have also started seeing Dr. Trester.  We enjoy our visits and look forward to getting and staying healthy!

I started treatment with Dr. Randall Trester in October 2005 for treatment of mid and upper back pain, but mostly in hopes to gain some relief from my weekly migraines and insomnia.
I had tried everything as far as treatments go.  Physiotherapy, massage, herbal remedies, modified diet, attended at the sleep disorder clinic, the list goes on.  About 4 years ago I saw a neurologist who suggested several cocktails of drugs to take when a migraine would occur; even suggesting that I take some Gravol and a couple of Tylenol 3’s to knock myself out for the really bad ones.  (This was hardly practical when you are working and have kids).

Chiropractic was suggested to me by some friends however, I felt it would only be another lost cause.  I thought chiropractic treatments were more for joint and muscle injuries.  My husband and I decided it was time to start planning for a baby.  I just couldn’t imagine being pregnant and having a baby feeling like I did.  It is then that I decided to give Dr. Trester a try.

I had no idea as to what to expect.  I wasn’t really keen on my body being “adjusted.” It just didn’t sound like it would be a pleasant treatment.  I really didn’t see how this was going to help me but was desperate at this point.

The consultation was extremely thorough.  Dr. Trester didn’t promise any miracles but said we would set a goal a few weeks out.  If this wasn’t met with some improvements we would re-evaluate and see if this was the right method of treatment for me.  I thought this was fair and agreed to the program.
I started with three appointments a week.  I began to feel relief almost immediately.  My headaches were gaining distance from each other and were less severe with milder side effects. My progress was steady.  Stretches were part of my treatment, You have to participate in your own treatment, it makes a huge difference.  When I awoke in the morning, I no longer felt like my neck was locked and started each day with a more positive outlook, I simply felt better.

I still get headaches, not migraines, every once in a while but what a difference in the severity.  I wish I would have gone this route years ago and saved my body the drug induced sleeps to deal with my migraines.  I am now on a maintenance program and feel great.

I tell everyone about chiropractics.  I was the biggest non-believer now I am Dr. Trester’s #1 fan! Thank you Shalene and Randall for everything!

As a result of Dr. Trester's treatments, my back and hip flexors are now in their best condition in a long time. I enjoy much more mobility and flexibility and am almost always pain free. I am very impressed by Dr. Trester's professional concern for my well being.

Imagine spending eight hours studying each day with a hammer hitting you between the eyes and every little sound is like a knife through your temples. The only thing I could do to dull the excruciating pain, which was causing me to loose my vision, was sleep. However I kept waking up with chronic back and neck pain several times a night and was unable to get back to sleep. I resorted to seeing a neurologist who advised me to take Advil migraine and get enough sleep. Needless to say this didn't help. After my consultation with Dr. Trester, I was eager to give chiropractic a chance. Everything made so much sense biologically, subluxations and pain signals; I'd just never had a chiropractor explain it to me before. I was eager to be adjusted and confident this was going to at least pull me through exam period. My results were fast. I booked three appointments in one week and after that third appointment I have not suffered a single migraine. Chiropractic and Dr. Trester have given me a new outlook on life, a life without migraines and back pain. I was so impressed with my results and awed by the complex relationship between the spinal cord, vertebrae and the rest of the body that I have decided to become a chiropractor myself.

From the first visit to Dr. Trester's office I knew I was in the right place and I was on the road to "rebuilding" my spine and my health. That was just how I felt mentally. I can honestly say that, physically, my symptoms almost completely subsided in the first two visits. Dr. Trester designed a program for getting me back in top form and I am now currently working together with Dr. Trester to make that happen. It's a symbiotic relationship and it requires commitment on the part of the client. It's like a health and fitness program in that if you don't commit, you will not get results. Thanks to Dr. Trester I have made a commitment to lifelong spinal health and I constantly preach the values of chiropractic to my clients, friends & family alike. Without a doubt, it changed the quality of my life.

It was the spring of 1994 when someone backed into my car causing absolutely no damage to my car and I thought no physical injury as well. The next morning I woke up with my upper back and neck totally seized up and I was incapacitated for the next 2 weeks. Because I had thought there was no damage, I had never taken down the driver's information and was left without an insurance claim. I suffered for the next decade trying all sorts of pain killers and massage therapy with nothing taking care of the problem other than just managing the pain. I could not sleep in a cold room without the pain returning and making me useless for days. I traveled extensively during this time and the first thing I had to do when arriving in my hotel room was to learn how to shut off the air conditioner. Then I saw Dr. Trester in the spring of 2004 and was shocked and amazed at what he was able to diagnose. He laid out a plan for me with a schedule and even what the price on what it would cost. I said to myself that if this could help just alleviate some of the pain, it would be well worth the cost. What I thought would be years of treatment, was only a few months and I am now pain free. Dr. Trester also told me that my body will bounce back much quicker if ever something were to aggravate the condition again and miracle of miracles, I've had only one return attack and the pain only lasted 2 hours compared to what would have been days.

I received some injuries to my knees and elbows years ago while working as an actor/dancer on Broadway. I was experiencing dull, aching pain throughout the day, sharp pain upon any exertion and pain would wake me up 3 or 4 times at night. I was told that surgery might be my only option. The results with Dr. Trester have been phenomenal. After a few months of treatment I am totally without pain. I feel better, I'm sleeping better, I am taking no pills, using no ointments, and I am convinced that chiropractic care works!

Probably the biggest health benefit for Pam has been with regards to allergy and asthma symptoms. She no longer takes any mediation for either symptoms and yet feels better. Symptoms of congestion, sneezing, and itchy eyes are virtually gone.

I've been very impressed and happy with the results from being a patient of Dr. Trester. Very quickly my headaches and other pains went away. He also educated me on the benefits of a regular maintenance schedule. I noticed I was stronger in the gym, recovered faster, and didn't get injured or sick as often as I used to. I'm also a lot more relaxed and handle stress a lot better now.

I believe chiropractic care's philosophy of attacking the root of the problem rather than the symptoms is the right choice for everyone and that more people should check into chiropractic and check out of taking drug upon drug for symptoms that can easily be overcome with just a little teamwork. All in all, chiropractic care has made me a healthier man who is more aware of my body and the attention it needs.

Dr. Trester understood my uniqueness and the right to have healthcare customized to that uniqueness, respecting personal preferences and preserving individual dignity. I was amazed at his ability to attempt various treatment methods depending on the subluxation. I found that my headaches subsided, my lower back pain ceased, and pinched nerves no longer make frequent visits.
