A Lifetime Choice - A Lifetime Joy!

This is how I describe my experience with the chiropractic clinic of Dr Randall Trester.

I am feeling sluggish and have pains here and there and so I attended the Wellness conference to find some ways to lift my sprits towards a healthy lifestyle. That is where I found their clinic at the Exhibit and decided to make an appointment for me and my husband.

The appointment started with a consultation, x ray and a clear explanation of what chiropractic adjustments we are getting. Of course, the ever smiling and charming Shalene is there that makes every visit a happy one. That is when I made a lifetime choice. To get on with the treatment plan.

Dr Trester and Shalene are very accommodating, and the clinic has that “you are our family “vibe. Health information are available to enable us to understand and see the results of a restored health of our spines. What is best is that this is through safe and natural chiropractic care.

My husband has recovered well, and I can see his vigor in life has come back. A few incidents happen at home and at work and Dr Trester was able to help and get him better.

So, is it done, is it all gone? Of course not. We continue to move and may still cause damage and stress to our joints and muscles in the process. We trust and will continue to trust Dr Trester to provide us with the constant chiropractic care and consult to maintain the health of our spines, muscles, and joints. We hope to face life’s challenges at this stage of our life bearable and have more enjoyable memories with our sons and family.

That is what you call a lifetime of joy, having a chiropractic professional, known to be the best in the field, looking after our health.

Last October I began feeling tingling and numbness in my left foot, thinking it was just a temporary issue and would resolve itself, however next thing I knew, the pain got worse and spread up my left leg and before long up my left side. The pain grew extremely worse, and I could no longer bear the pain. I could not walk very far, and each step was extremely painful. I couldn’t even reposition my leg while trying to sleep, without horrendous pain, so I tried my best to lay in one position, avoiding any leg movement. I finally went to see my doctor and he sent me to physio, but after a few visits, I was told there was nothing she could help me with, as there was no improvement, she recommended I go back to my doctor and get a CT scan. I also was recommended to take extra strength Tylenol, then Aleve but the pain was still unbearable and pain pills added no relief. I tried acupuncture a few times, but still no relief. A friend who suffered pain from a vehicle accident recommended some kind of injection, which helped her, and at this point I was desperate for a solution, so I received the injection, but the pain got worse, I could barely move!

I happened to browse Facebook and came across a posting about Pain and how many people professed to have recovered from pain by being treated by Dr. Trester! I was willing to give chiropractor treatment a try, since I have tried so many other treatments, which didn’t help. I was impressed after the first visit, X-rays were taken, and various exams of my limited mobility were observed by Dr. Trester, then he recommended what treatments I would need. I followed his recommendations for exercise and chiropractic treatment and slowly my pain eased. I could walk much better and was able to sleep without much leg pain. I still have pain, but it is much more bearable, and I am able to continue my various activities. I am impressed with the genuine friendliness and care that I have received from Dr. Trester and his wife, Shalene, who is his receptionist. I feel that a very heavy burden of pain has been lifted, and I really thank Dr. Trester for easing my pain!

How do I begin! Coming to Dr. Randall Trester was a life changer for me.

At 23 years old I felt as if I was trapped in an old man’s body. Since coming here I’ve gained a lot of my flexibility back, got to do the things I enjoy the most like walking and running which was totally unimaginable prior to coming here. I really appreciate coming here not only because of Shalene’s warm welcome when you check into the practice, but also Dr. Trester’s great attention to detail during my adjustments! Coming to my appointments is my favourite day of the week!

I got referred to Dr Trester from my partner who has been seeing him for over a year now. Like most people who are not typically "injured", my first thought was "why do I need to see a chiropractor when I don't have any physical problems?

What I was used to was the standard cracking and intense approach to chiropractic medicine. To me, I couldn't see how that would benefit me. What I really needed, was a whole nervous system adjustment. Over the last year (or really, last 30 years), my nervous system has been in a state of fight or flight, and most of ours are - but we don't even know it. My digestive system was out of whack, I was consistently tired and didn't know how to properly handle my stress. My "unwellness" was showing up in ways that weren't even directly obvious (unlike having immediate pain somewhere in your body).

Dr Trester has been consistently working with me on my nervous system to help me lead a better life and to manage not only my physical state, but my mental state as well. Over the course of the last few months, I have definitely noticed a difference in how my body is functioning. Even though we cannot escape life's stresses, my body and nervous system is slowly learning how to combat and manage stress better.

Thank you to Dr Trester and Shalene, for not only getting me in when possible, adjusting my appointments, seeing me on a whim - but for treating me like a part of your family. The other day I had to come in for some much needed help and Dr Trester followed up with me in the evening to see how I was doing. 10/10 care.

Twas a Thursday like no other! I had heaviness in the chest even before heading to work that morning. It lingered the whole day so I told a colleague at work around 4pm that I might have to check into E.R. again! But I thought I might still endure it til 7pm as I had an appointment with Dr Trester at the Wellness Centre. My mind was running wild -- what if it was something more serious??? But, I calmed myself further -- confident I will have adjustments and feel better in a few hours.

Off I went to see Dr Trester and as I went back to my car atop the 9-step staircase in front of the clinic, the heaviness was gone like magic-erased!!! This strengthensed my belief in Dr Trester and chiropractic care which I only discovered serendipitously a year ago.

I have had near-fainting spells since January 2021 to May 2022 landing me in emergency rooms 11 times. With no clear indication or diagnosis except to confirm that it was not a stroke, TIA, aneurysm, BPPV nor vertigo, I was restless. I am very grateful twas nothing serious. However, I had to find a solution or cure as the anxiety over not knowing and dealing with the near-fainting spells were very intense experiences.

Luckily, the universe popped Dr Trester's promo offer online! I was on a wellness journey seeking help from a neuro-physiotherapist, naturopath, physiotherapist, another chiropractor, acupuncturist, TCM healer who did cupping as well, massage therapist and a temporo mandibular jaw therapist who all provided some relief but I still ended in ER while I was in their care. At that point, I waited to see a neurologist cuz they also confirmed I had vestibular issues.

Since coming to West First Chiropractic Centre in late June 2022, I did not have to bring myself to ER again. Moreover, there is another condition and my insomnia was sorted! The issue with heaviness in the chest, although isolated, was the culmination of relief.

I have now simply resolved that chiropractic adjustments will be a "staple" in my self-care regimen esp since I am averse to Rx and will only take prescription drugs as a last resort.

I truly love coming to Dr Trester for adjustments and Shalene is superbly organized with things admin! I am so blessed to have found them and will continue coming post-treatment plan. Having no episodes of near-fainting gives me peace of mind amidst a recent discovery of seizures. Thus, I've already referred three friends so they can also find relief from their issues.

Thank God for Dr Trester's chiropractic care I feel much better now!

I first met Dr. Trester at the Planted Expo in Vancouver in the summer of 2022 where he was providing free assessments. As someone who has suffered from long-term chronic back, neck, and hip pain I was curious to see what he would say. After a quick evaluation he quickly spotted several issues that I had already been aware of and assured me that he could help. His initial assessment gave me the confidence to give the West 1st Chiropractic Wellness Centre a try and they have not disappointed. From my initial visit onwards the care I've received has been first rate. Dr. Trester takes the time to not only provide treatment but to educate his patients thoroughly regarding the treatment they're receiving and how it works. He has a great bedside manor and puts patients at ease. Appointment bookings, re-scheduling, billing are all incredibly easy and create a worry free environment that allows you to focus on the treatment. I have been receiving treatment for the past 7 months and went from having chronic pain to enjoying a mostly pain free life! While I have completed the bulk of my treatment, I will continue to go to Dr. Trester and the West 1st Chiropractic Wellness Centre on a periodic basis to ensure I maintain the wonderful progress I've made!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Trester for a couple months now to prevent my scoliosis from getting worse. I didn’t really notice major differences at first, but after a couple of visits, I started being more flexible, and my body is less tense. At the end of my first treatment plan which was about half a year, the x-ray showed promising improvement - the upper part of my neck was straighter compared to my initial xray (before treatment).

In terms of service, Dr. Trester and his wife are very welcoming, friendly, and they’re clear with the direction of the treatment that they’re going with, which I appreciate.
